Bella Vista, Neuchâtel

On the site of the former Metalor factory in Neuchâtel, PORR, as a total contractor, has been building 281 residential units in seven four- to seven-storey buildings as well as 800 m² of commercial space since summer 2021. The client for this sustainable construction project is METEOR DEVELOPMENTS LTD.

The Bella Vista project sits on a spectacular south-facing slope, above the city and high above Lake Neuchâtel. Embedded in the periphery of the urban fabric, living space with a high quality of life is being created on an area of 7,000 m² in a loosely structured quarter with generous green spaces.

The main facades are composed of plastered full thermal insulation and floor-to-ceiling window openings. The plaster and window surfaces are framed vertically and horizontally by prefabricated concrete elements. Balcony projections and recesses break up the facade surfaces. The project is designed according to the latest Minergie criteria.

The entire planning of the project is carried out using the BIM methodology: all planners create a BIM model for their specialist disciplines. These models are coordinated by a BIM manager. The aim is to avoid errors in the early stages of planning in order to make the execution on the construction site more efficient.
