PORR takes over Bilfinger Infrastructure in Poland and Norway

Vienna, 11 June 2015 – Today, PORR AG signed the contract for the acquisition of the Polish Bilfinger Infrastructure S.A. from Bilfinger SE. Bilfinger Infrastructure operates in the business segments road and bridge construction, civil engineering and power plant construction and achieved in the financial year 2014 an operating revenue of EUR 166m with 800 employees. The purchase price is EUR 21.5m. The acquisition is subject to approval by the antitrust and competition authorities.

Acquisition secures the sustainable strengthening of the overall market position
Bilfinger Infrastructure's service portfolio strengthens PORR's infrastructure activities in its home market  Poland - especially in the areas of road and power plant construction as well as hydraulic engineering, civil engineering and bridge construction. Whereas PORR so far mainly succeeded in the segments of building construction and through its railway construction know-how, the corporation now has an excellent position in all other areas of infrastructure. In the future, a total of 700 employees will work for PORR in Poland. With the acquisition of Bilfinger Infrastructure, PORR also takes over Bilfinger's branch in Norway and thus enters this attractive market, too. With a staff of approximately 100, Bilfinger Infrastructure is currently implementing three bridge construction projects in Norway at highest technical level  with guaranteed financing.

"The acquisition represents a strategic completion of our activities in Poland. Bilfinger Infrastructure's competences are the missing puzzle pieces in our portfolio and will promote our civil engineering activities in the future" says Karl-Heinz Strauss, CEO of PORR AG. "Furthermore, taking over the Bilfinger branch in Norway opens up interesting perspectives in a new, highly attractive market."
